Week 5 of Project 365

This was a busy week for us. From rushing to one house to the next, Me making Christmas lunch for my mothers side. The kids making a miss day in day out with there new toys. Not that we didn’t help them, who doesn’t like playing with a Duplo train set. Now we are getting ready for New Years and a few days skiing. For new years the children and I will be at my grandmothers. All in all it was a grate week, I don’t know how all the other bloggers did it getting there post up, LOL, right now I am playing catch up blogging and still need to find the pictures for the Memories, Dreams and Reflections @ Ramblings and Photos Guess that will be done tonight and tomorrow, to have it ready to link up on the second.

Week 4 of project 365

So other week has gone by, and I have had my camera for a month. I think I am getting better, LOL, if anything I am getting better at editing. I am just trying to work out what the F-stop dose, don’t quite understand it. I think I need a lens where I can go lower to play more, it seems like I always have it on the lowest number cos it is so dark here. I have so much fun when we go out to play outside with the kids and I take my camera. I really need a camera bag, and a tripod. I think those are the most 2 important things I need.

This week we put up the tree then we went for a walk through the city, I just love the Christmas markets and the lights in the city center. I went to my works x-mass party, though I am on mat leave and haven’t been at work for well ages to work anyways. Love living here payed mat leave till the kids are 2 years old, then you can work part time till your kids are 4 with out being sacked, guess sometimes some countries really have there perks. Back to our week, the Christmas party was fun, but I didn’t take my camera with me, They had a candy floss mashain there, guess how many chefs it takes to make one little thing of candy floss, 5, really there were 5 trying to get this thing working it was soooo funny. I stayed there for the 2 hours got my pressie,  a huge beach towl and some cosmetics. Me and the kids made a tree to hang our cards from, another blogging mum gave me the idea. OK onto the photos.

It seems like I post A LOT of photos of Mr Mar Jr, that is because Ms Mar is at kindy and well who doesn’t like taking photos of there kids when they are around.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas all my lovely followers.

Over here we enjoy Christmas on the 24th in the evening, that day we spent with my In-laws, Today I had my mothers side of the family over for lunch. I made some yummy roast beef rolls, followed by a poached fish roll on capsicum sauce with start polanter. Mr. Mar Sr made a typical Austrian dish, Kaiser schmarn, but with some liebkuchen spices. Was a cool, twist to it.

I got a camera bag for my camera, I so needed one, my hand bag isn’t big enough for it, and Mr. Mar Sr didn’t really want to carry it around all the time. I gave him a new cell phone, he actually wanted a MP3 Player but since his phone was playing up I thought, why not a new one, with MP3 player on it, and some beans to fill the bean bag.

My kids were so nackerd by 530pm that we needed up putting them to bed at 630, both were asleep by 7. Tomorrow we are off to my dads parents place for Christmas. Yeh, busy 3 days.

The Paper Mama - Winter

I was just looking at The Paper Mama blog and saw that this weeks theme is winter. It reminded me of a photo I took last week at my grandparents. Mr Mar Jr looking over the town where they live. Just take a look.

Touch Up Tuesday

While going through my photos for this weeks 365, I love the way this photo turned out. Both my boys were asleep on the sofa, Mr Mar Sr likes his naps in the mornings. LOL, I still don’t understand how he can sleep so much, but then on average we go to bed around 1am and the kids are waking us up around 8ish, though that can be 7 too, usually not much earlier. Unless of course we go to bed at 2 or 330 like it has been a few times in the last week.

Well while my boys were asleep I thought it was so cute and took some pics of them sleeping, I actually edited out the little bit you could see of Mr Mar Sr jumper. Cleaned up Mr Mar JR skin, he has gotten a rash all around his mouth. At least it doesn’t seem to be bugging him. He also has a huge scratch on his cheek, don’t even know where it came from. But both the kids were playing upstairs when he come down with a scratch, bleeding but no crying.

Macro Friday – Dinner

This week we copied something we saw on TV the other week. We often watch cooking shows, me being a chef and my partner is a pastry chef a lot of our life has to do with food. MMMM, guess that is a reason I am not doing too well on one of my 26 before 26 challenge. A very common food here is filled capsicum, Mr Mar Sr doesn’t really like them, but this what we saw on TV uses all the same ingredients. But instead of mixing the mince meat (ground meat) and rice then stuffing it into a capsicum and cooking it in a tomato sauce. You make your tomato sauce, put that one the plate, make mince paddies put that on  a plate then layer a roasted capsicum on it, then a layer of rice then capsicum again. It taste nearly the same looks sooooo much nicer, and is nice and fluffy. Here is the original recipe cooked from Johann Lafer, CLICK, (its in German though) and looks A LOT better then mine. I really want some of those rings you can use to portion food better.

3rd week of Project 365

This week we just finished baking, started out gingerbread house and otherwise it was just a very normal week. It has been snowing LOTS, and it has been REALY REALY cold. We have been finishing doing our Christmas shopping, really I have been calling the post and one other company to try and track down where my calendars and Christmas cards are, guess there is still one week time to get them, otherwise nothing this year, and I will feel so bad, just cos I kind of missed I didn’t type the E at the end of a word, Instead of Rechte (right) I route Recht OK, not gonna vent about my stupid mistake. And I usually cheek the addresses I put 2-3 times cos of my dyslexia.

Touch Up Tuesday – My kiddies

So I desided to add this add this photo to the Paper HeartCamara touch up Tuesday. I am adding 3 edits, the color, b&w and sepia. I think I like The Sepia best. 

First I opened the photo in Photoshop  and cropped the photo. Afterwards I opened my second picture to to change the eyes, since Ms Mar is looking down and I couldn’t get a photo of both kids looking into the camera. I cut out the eyes, copied them into the Main photo, and adjusted the size and angle to get it to fit onto the main photo. Then I flattened it.

After that I adjusted the Levels, curves, Color Balance, Brightness/Contrast, duplicated the layer and added a soft light layer. I also ran the Coffee Shop Baby Powder Room action then put them all into a set and lowered the occupancy on the whole set.  What I was happy with the way it looked I flattened it.

After that I added a b&w gradient map, changed the curves to adjust the b&w how I liked it. Then to get the Sepia tone I played around with the color balance over the b&w.

The Paper Mama - Holiday Colors

This weeks theme over at the paper mama is Holiday Colors. So I took our Advent Wreath what is red, green, sliver and gold, and Mr Mar Jr who just LOVES blowing out the candles. It is so funny. For those who don’t know what this is, basically 4 weeks before Christmas each Sunday you light a candle. So the last candle get light on the last Sunday before Christmas. We also put our tree up that day. Each Sunday we do a deferent thing. Advent Sunday 1 – Make the Wreath Advent Sunday 2 – Go to my grandparents place to the Nickolas grampus festival. Advent Sunday 3 – Make a gingerbread house (though we will be doing this on Monday) Advent Sunday 4 – Put up our tree and go into town, to the Christmas markets and drink some punch. This is also my way of getting the kids into the Christmas sprit. The weeks just fly by. So here is Mr Mar Jr with the Christmas wreath.

Holiday Bokeh Party

 

So I saw quite a few bloggers linking up to this yesterday. Today I got my camera out and took some Bokeh photos. I think they turned out OK. I really need to work out how to set my white balance and where to put my ISO, but that will come with time and finishing reading the manual. What I really like is the effect of where the cercals cross over to make a lighter part. I also like the star photos, we have some start lights outside so I played around with them too.

Color Splash Sunday

Mr Mar JR has finally discovered how to use the block thing, there are only 3 shapes on this one, round, square and a triangle. About a week ago when I gave it to him to try he didn’t get it. Now, its all new and he gets it, I think he did it about 20 times this day. The first time he did it I helped him and he always choose the same color till it was gone then went on to the next one. Now he just picks up what ever one and inserts it. It is so fun to watch. I love watching the kids learned new things.

Macro Friday – Fruit Stand

We have a fruit stand at home, that we got from Ikea, It actually isn’t made for fruit but it is grate, on the top I keep dried fruits for the kids. Figs apples plums… What ever we have a few nuts too. Makes for a grate snack.

Week 2 Of project 365

So this week has gone by, the weeks are flying, I am hardly having time to do challenges, I just don’t know when. Since getting back from our holiday in NZ I haven’t gotten into a pattern again. Or am I just trying to do too many challenges.  Anways, the weather has been winter wonderful, cold but lots of snow, that melted in the last 2 days. It did snow this afternoon again though. I love the snow hate the cold though. This weekend we went to my Grandparents the kids grate grandparents. St Nickolas is HUGE here, so we went down into town to take part. Otherwise, we have been baking and hanging out at home. So here go my pics for this week. 

A Very Merry Christmas link up – Christmas lights.

So I just found this blog though Amy’s blog, and they are having A Very Merry Christmas link up party. I love Christmas, its one of my favorite times of the years, I just love the happiness around it the shearing, everyone getting together. And of course all the lights. We put our lights up at the start of the month. And this weeks theme is Christmas Lights. So the picture I am shearing is of the kids home made advent calendar, Where I have to say, Mr Mar Jr broke the lights, probably pulled one out a bit and I can’t figure out what ones.

A weekend in Gloggnitz

So we spent the Grampus weekend out in Gloggnitz with Oma and Opa. We took the train out, and couldn’t the the pram as there was so much snow. So I had 2 bags, with all the winter clothes. Opa come down with the sledge to help us go back up, though he would of come down even if it was nice weather.
