RAW(e) - Yellow

MellowYellowMondayBadgeThis weeks theme over at Sailor & company is YELLOW. Therefor I am not only linking up over there, but also with Mellow Yellow Monday.

I went and had a look to find this photo of an ant sitting on a sunflower. I took this at my uncals house back in July.

I only edit to resize and add my water mark.

Anyways head over to Sailor & Company to see more unedited pictures.

Color Splash Sunday - AMUSEMENT PARK

Yeah, I never made it to Prater, the only amusement park in Vienna, its just too expensive to go there as you have to pay for each ride separately, not that would stop me taking photos there, I just wasn't home most of last week, so we never really go there. The last time I was there was just after Mr Mar Jr was born. But most parks have these coin machines where you put in €1 and 5c and the 5c get pushed into an oval shape with a picture from the park.

This is the first time I actually blurred the back ground on a picture, It defiantly makes it look allot better.

So head over to Amy's blog Artistically Amy for more color splash photos.

Photo Roulette - 12(14)

This week though Friday is long gone, since I had a long weekend away with out Internet, I couldn't link up, time for catch up posting (and editing) in the next hour.

First link up, with with photo roulette Friday, this week we got to chose from 2 sets of numbers (in case we have to dig deeper)

Since I am just transferring all my photos to my external hard drive and backing up to CD (PLEASE REMEMBER TO DO BACK UPS I have lost too many photos, and back up in more then one place, Yes it dose happen that 2 places die at the same time... or you are too dumb and think you burnt everything to CD when you didn't)

Back to photo roulette, the numbers are 12(14) or 6(14) I chose 12(14),
12 Folder = Food ~ 14 Photo = Not a too good of a photo, but it was one of the photos I started to blog again. This was for my second entry over at I hart face. Though this photo did not get used...

Head on over to Mischief and Laughs to see more random photos.

Wordless Wednesday #13

The reason I wished for a camera when I was 10 was to actually take photos of the sky. This is probably one of the least things I have taken fotos of. Well except for the last 2 weeks. I just love the shapes and patterns clouds make. I remember laying in the grass as a kid just watching the clouds change, waiting for new shapes to apair. I don't know when the last time I did that was.

I ♥ Faces - Beach Fun

I miss the beach, living in a land locked country I don't get to see sand sea or waves allot. Unless I go HOME to New Zealand. This photo was taken just out side of Auckland. I have no idea what this beach was called, but nothing screams more Kiwi then having fish and chips during sun set at the beach. This is my dad and my brother. Ms Mar was around too, but not on this photo.

So head on over to iheartfaces.com to see more grate photos including Faces.

scavenger hunt sunday

Another week, Another challange. This week I deffently had a hard time. First I had to google what Leading Lines photos are. Then the chalange what to take a photo of. My weeks just seem to go by so fast, even being a stay at home mum. But it deffenly gives me grate resons to go out and take some photos.

I have deffently relised how long it takes to edit photos. The photos for the wedding cake post, I spent 3 evenings doing them.

I just got all photos taken in time for this one, well exept sight, since I was so confused to what i should take and had no idea what so ever.

Leading Lines - going for a walk over the Blue Danup

Something Comfortable - What is more compfterbul then a sheep skin. They are so soft...

Marco Monday Spiechal 100

Today is the 100th editon of Marco monday over a Lis's Chaos, she is trying to get 100 people to particpate in Marco 100.

I thought what would fit better then using 100 & 1000 for my marco shot. Is that even what everone in the US calls them, no idea. But they are the little sugar perls that you put on ice cream and things like that.

Head over to Lisa's Chaos to see more Marco Monday shots.

The Papa Mama Photo Challenge - Flowers

The Paper MamaI had taken theas photos today, actually to enter them into the orange challenge, I can just never really remember when something ends... But I think it fits just as well for this challenge too. What is Flowers. This is the kids playing with the water fountain at Mr Mar Sr aunties place. They had so much fun with that. And I loved the orange/yellow flowers in front of them.

Anyway, Head over to Chelsey's blog the paper mama for some more Buddie photos.

Marco Friday

We were at the inlaws the other day, and I was accualy wanting to take photos of butterflys, but they were just too fast, plus I only found 2 and they were gone with in no time. But on this bush they have their there were a ton of bees. You can accualy realy tell how small the flowers are on this bush. I was so amazed when I looked at the photos and saw what this one looked like.

Head on over to Blogging From Bolivia to see more marco shots.

Photo Roulette - 3(25)

I so love this game, first its easy, this week it was 3rd folder (my photos to show people, I had to go onther layer down, New Zealand 08) then the 25ed photo. I never know where I will land. Waiting for the day when I just wont join in cos the photo is too embrasing or somthing

This photo was taken in New Zealand, the last time I was there, Ms Mar down at the beach brushing her hair out of her face. She has gorwn up so much in the last 2 years. This must of been mid december 2008. Her hair is now strait, she talks, talking 2 deffernt langwadges dose make it harder. My baby girl realy isn't a baby anymore, even if she can act like one from time to time.

Making a wedding cake.

So some friends of the family had there wedding on Saturday, We made the wedding cake, a 4 stacked, well staired one.

Bottom cake: Punch cake, the motive on top is what they had on there invites.
Middle 2 cakes are a Sacher cake, an Austrian chocolate cake, topped with real roses.
Top cake is a Nut cake, topped with a sugar crown and real flowers.

The cakes, after they were baked.

Rolling out the fondant

Dusting the table

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Lifting it up gently

Cover the cake

Smoothing out the Fondant

Add a nice purple ribbon to the bottom to hide any uneven edges

Base of the top cake is done, Now anther 3 times to go.

We bought a Wilton turn table to decorate the cakes with, this thing is sooo cool, and makes it ALLOT easer.

Starting with the first border...

Then onto the second part of it.

Finishing it off, 2 cakes with this patten on it.

Now to the bottom cake, this patten was on there card, or at least it was very simmeler to the card.

The crown that we put on top, made out of royal icing, piped onto a patten then the back piped again. We put it together at the venue, since we didn't dear to put it together at home, since we had to transport the cake about an hours drive.

Now with the real roses

A close up of the crown

Top View

A few more close ups

I wish I had a better camera, since my camera takes good pictures outside during the day light, even in bright sun, but differently not inside, and even less if I don't use flash. Using flash dose not work with taking photos of cakes they are really washed out. So LOTS of post work to get them looking OK. Colors are still off. Can't wait for a few more months weeks, years till I really understand photoshop and have a new version.

In a Yellow House - Arts 'n' carfts

BWS tips buttonThough we did spend a week doing arty stuff, it was all baking, we made a wedding cake, still editing the photos for a post of the cake, but I don't have all the time in the world. This photo I am entering is of Ms Mar when we did a finger painting project, guess it turned into a body painting project. She had fun, and I think the color full bubbles in the bubble bath afterwards were a really bonus. She has changed so much in the last 1.5 years, I took this november 2008.

In a yellow house photo challenge is still being hosted by Ashley Sisk so head on over to her blog Ramblings and Photos for more arts and crafts.
