Photo Story Friday - My Gaden on the 4th and 5th floor

So I have finaly gotten all myphotos together, the photos that I have taken during the year. One thing I have realy been missing living in Austira is fresh vegies, not shop friesh, but fresh fresh, strait out of the garden. Well 2 years or is it 3, we moved into this apprment, We live in the 4th story, but we have a 2 story apparment. Guess one thing that made us lucky is we have 2 HUGE balkonies, not only can they be used by the people who smoke, what is deffently NOT happing in a place I live in. Its bad enough when I go out (ok not going there). The first summer I was here I had already said I want my own garden, OK, i know it wont be huge, but just big enough to make a salad for dinner. So after a while here, and me all ready to go out and get some wood and nails and just do this by my self. Mr Mar Sr desides he dosn't realy trust my bulding so we went out and bought 3 bix boxes were his dad made some holders for them to mount them to the belkoney.

This is the bottom belkoney BEFOR we done anything, yip its a mess, pluss this was Janury, so still cold.

When we first got it had a bit of a problem and that was that the water would run down and the carpit would get SOCKED, we ended up puting a hose in to catch the water then made it run into a bucket also saving us water. BUT it was soooo much fun for the kids to play with.

IF you walked into the cortyard and looked UP this is what you see, well minus flowers and the rest now since it is all dieing, WINTER GO AWAY

Here are my seedlings growing. I had them planted in egg cartons, that way all I need to do is cut it up and put the plant in the grownd with the egg carton.

I have to say we did have a bit of salad, we grew, tomatoes, lettice, Kohlrabi, radishes, snap peas, string beans, and ALOT of deffernt hurbs. Frish hurbs are just grate.

Wanted and UNwanted guest or well MASHROOMS, theas were like one day things they would grow overnight and by the next evning they were dead.

and since I guess you are getting board of all thease vegies, here is the last lot, this was the last salad we ate befor we left to NZ. Though when we got back we still had a few carrots, radishes, a couple of tomatoes and a bit of littce, but not enough to make a whole salad.

Foto Story Friday - Planting a Tree

I don't think I have likned up with photo story friday, er remind me its not firday anymore, But I am home alone, Mr Mar SR at work and the kids are with there grandmum, pluss I am sick, the reson I desided to get the kids away to rest, by the way my head is feeling I am glad they arn't here, But it has given me a chance to put up some photos, I realy need to get back into blogging.

I am doing a Blog hope, for every 10th comment, every 5ed follower and every 1000 visit to my blog I will palnt a tree, Now since I don't have room in a apparment to plant a tree, I planted one when I was in New Zealand on holdiay, I planted it am my mums, I chose a Macadamia tree, I LOVE macadmia nuts. Getting  hammer and hitting them so hard till the shell pops off, then eating the nice nut inside. MMMMM, so what better tree to chose, plus I guess it will stop a bit of carbon out put by just walking to the tree and getting the nuts once it carry then driving over to the shop to buy them.

Then since my mum has a prity big orchard we had to find a place to put it. This was the most open place we could find. The trees to the side are not dead, but since it is spring time they are just starting to wake up. Oh, its going to be getting so nice a warm over there now, and here well yeh it is just getting cold, Though I do love the color of all the trees right now.

Digging the whol, LOL so I start to dig, getting the right width and the right depth, Just for the shovel to hit somting, I think GRATE I got  the off run form the sugege thing, so I keep diging to try and figer out what it is. It was rotten rock, yes rock can rot, it just gets all wird. So I get to start all over again...

Once I had finnished the second howl, Having it big enough we put the tree in, then since I deffently did not do a good job of putting the earth on a nice pile I had a hard time putting the earth in around the tree, at least I had Mr Mar Jr there to help me. It was more hard work then I though. Only 11 more or so to go...

NONE, I don't even know WHERE I will plant the trees yet, but I know I will find a place, probably when I am home at my mums or dads and plant them there, I may even find some plants that I can put on my balcony that will survive the winters too. Since I don't own property here I can't plant any here, so relatives will have to help out with a bit of land.

Color Splash Sunday - Spring

We are Coloer splashing our photos again, and we have onther theam that isn't about one coloer, and it is srping, now the weather has been anything but srping like here, more like autum, we have been having around 5-9°C so not eny of may wather, it was snowing down to 900m. So I could do anything like put Miss Mar in some spingy clothes and take pics of her. BUT, since I was at my grandparents over the weekend (hance the reson I am posting this on monday and not on sunday) My granddad gave me some plants, littice and coliflower for my container garden, first year trying to do this. So I'll see how many plants servive in the long run. I had to plant theas plants this moring to make sure they don't die befor they even hit the soil.

A Greener Blog

So I am always wanting to find easy aways of making this world a lil bit greener, and how easy is it, to just put a lil icon on your blog and sombody plants a tree for just doing that. It can be that easy. So over to the right side is that littel button, now all i need to do is tell them that I have that botten on my blog, by clicking on it you can find more infor.
